47While he was still speaking a crowd came up, and the man who was called Judas, one of the Twelve, was leading them. He approached Jesus to kiss him, 48but Jesus asked him, "Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?"
49When Jesus' followers saw what was going to happen, they said, "Lord, should we strike with our swords?" 50And one of them struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his right ear.
51But Jesus answered, "No more of this!" And he touched the man's ear and healed him.
52Then Jesus said to the chief priests, the officers of the temple guard, and the elders, who had come for him, "Am I leading a rebellion, that you have come with swords and clubs? 53Every day I was with you in the temple courts, and you did not lay a hand on me. But this is your hour—when darkness reigns."

This blog taight me about Jesus' love for his enemies and that he is willing to sacrafice himself to save us from hell. Great blog

It remints me that God has a plan for all of us just like He had a plan for Jesus to die for our sins.

Kevin, you have really good points in your application. Knowing that Jesus was so brave even when he knew he was going to suffer, it encourages me to not back out when I need to stand up for God even when I may get hurt.

ReplyDeleteI really liked how you said that Jesus' courage in difficult situations should be an inspiration for us to always be brave.
Your background information was very useful and made it clear that Jesus is loving and forgiving even to His enemies and that Jesus doesn't work with violence.
I do agree that it takes alot of love to forgive someone who is going to crucify you and you know it. If i am jesus, i would've just let the man be and not heal him. Lucky for him that I'm not :p
